Datasky Newsletter
October 18th, 2006

Welcome to the first edition of Datasky’s quarterly news letter Learning to Succeed targeted for new and existing users of the Oracle Applications e-business suite.

As an experienced Oracle partner and Training Services provider we are only too aware that the success of an Implementation is largely measured by how quickly new applications are adopted throughout the organization by confident well educated users.

"Making sure that our users adapted to and adopted the Oracle system and new ways of working was critical to us realising the business benefits."
Andy Bray, Business Change Manager, David Lloyd Leisure.

To this end Learning to Succeed is Datasky’s way of sharing with you some of our Business Readiness and Training experiences, insights and knowledge gained over the last 15 years. Each newsletter will provide a full range of hints and tips, white papers and real life customer experiences all available for you to download directly free of charge.

This edition includes our "Lost in Translation" white paper which looks at the ways to avoid the pitfalls that will knock your implementation off course and provides some simple steps for putting it right - including

  • Properly mobilizing the Project Team
  • Really engaging stakeholders
  • Putting effort into documenting new processes and keeping them updated
  • Effective education and training that sticks

Our objective is that having made you more aware of the different Education and Training services available in the marketplace today these options can be successfully deployed (with or without our assistance), to enhance your Learning experiences and enable you to make the most out of your Oracle Applications systems.

Dairy Crest

This Dairy Crest case study highlights the importance of identifying a training partner early in the implementation process so that training materials can be developed that reflect the business and then deployed in good time using a mix of traditional classroom and online training delivery.

"Because of the time constraints imposed by the new Oracle implementation we required a specialist Oracle Training Company to come in to Organise, Manage and deliver a comprehensive training programme for our Oracle end users."
Dairy Crest Project Steering group.

Lost in Translation

In a survey by CSC of over 700 sites, 82% of respondents said that their ERP implementation was successful, but only 22% said that they had achieved the anticipated benefits. And the worrying thing is that this is the same story that we have been hearing for the past 15 years. Why hasn’t it changed?
